Pee Wee ~ Grade 1 – 3
Our Pee Wee ball hockey leagues are for all youth (male & female) grades 1-3. Depending on registrations, we do make spots available to children in kindergarten. The seasons run for 12 weeks, one in the fall (Sep – Dec) and a second in the winter (Jan – Apr).
Players are asked to be at The Ark by 6:00 pm each Monday night for gearing up and warm up. The games will start at 6:30 pm and will end at approximately 7:30 pm.
Each evening will have a portion of the time dedicated to skill development, and a 5-minute club talk followed by a game with two 12 minute periods. Club talks are a time to encourage the youth with a Christ-focused message.
Atom ~ Grade 4 – 7
Our atom players hit the floor every Wednesday evening to face off in a game with three 12 minute periods. During the intermission, between the second and third periods, there will either be a club challenge or a club talk. During club talks, the coaches will be speaking to the players about everyday challenges that youth face and encouraging them with a biblical message. Club challenges are skill focused drills that challenge players and teams as they compete against each other.
An awards ceremony will be held immediately following the last playoff game where all players and teams will receive recognition for their accomplishments.
Trophies will be awarded to the team that wins the regular season, the team that wins the playoffs, the team which wins the most club challenges, and the most sportsmanlike team.
Bantam ~ Grade 8 – 12
Each Wednesday evening will consist of a game with three 15 minute periods. During the second intermission, there will be a club talk. Club talks are five-minute discussions where coaches engage players in Christ-focused conversations.
Format
The players will be put on a team at the beginning of the season. Please notify us if you wish to have your child on the same team as another child. We will do our best to accommodate.
Equipment
Players are required to wear a helmet with a full face cage and running shoes. Gloves are optional. The Ark does provide hockey sticks and helmets for players to use if they do not have them.
